An application is available for launching an HTML5 Network Speed Test Server. Users can test download and upload speed from any device within their network using a web browser that is IE10 or newer.

To use the OpenSpeedTest Network Speed Test Server, you will need two devices positioned between your WiFi router. Run the OpenSpeedTest Server App on one device and connect it directly to your router. If it's a wireless device, make sure it is within 1.5 meters. Navigate to the URL displayed in the OpenSpeedTest Server App from the second device to test the download and upload speed from other devices on your network to the device with OpenSpeedTest-Server.

Some important information to consider:

<li>Utilize the 5GHz WiFi band for maximum performance.</li>
<li>Do not minimize this application or run it in the background when conducting a speed test.</li>

If you are encountering slow internet usage and endless buffering, it may be due to a congested WiFi channel. OpenSpeedTest-Server aims to assist users in enhancing their internet experience by testing their WiFi or Ethernet connection and resolving local network issues before attributing them to their ISP.

The introduction of the HTML5 Network Speed Test Server for iOS offers an innovative solution. For headless or large-scale deployments, Docker images and Source Code are available for users.

Users might need to create their own SpeedTest Server to assess network performance accurately. This can be done in a Home Lab, Office Server, or Cloud Server. By running speed tests between different ISPs and troubleshooting network issues locally, users can identify performance discrepancies and optimize their network infrastructure accordingly.

Prior to adding a repeater to your network setup, it's crucial to consider its impact on network speed and coverage. Running a Local Network speed test can help in determining the most suitable placement for a repeater based on individual application requirements.

Unwanted browser extensions can significantly impact browsing performance. It is recommended to keep only essential extensions active for optimal browsing speed. The OpenSpeedTest tool can be utilized in a Private or Incognito Window to evaluate browser performance accurately and assess the impact of various extensions on browsing experience.

No client-side software or plugin is required to run network speed tests using this tool. Users can leverage any device with a web browser that supports IE10 or newer for performing these tests.
